Celebrating International Women’s Day

Today, the APPG for Freight and Logistics celebrates International Women’s Day.

The logistics industry is facing a long journey when it comes to cultivating diversity, particularly in terms of gender. With only 2% of HGV drivers being female, there are clearly structural barriers both discouraging and preventing women from entering the workforce of this skilled and essential essential industry.

The APPG for Freight and Logistics has raised and will continue to raise awareness amongst politicians of the many steps which need to be taken to create the conditions in the freight and logistics industry which allow women to thrive.

The APPG looks forward to holding a meeting on the topic of diversity in the freight and logistics sector in the summer.

If you feel your organisation could provide a valuable contribution to this meeting, please get in contact via: rha@pagefield.co.uk
